Alastair Farr

Alastair heads the UK & Europe Construction Solutions Practice for FTI. He is experienced in providing commercial, claims and expert witness services, including claims advice, dispute resolution and expert witness testimony.

Suzannah Fairbairn

Suzannah specialises in the resolution of construction disputes through international arbitration, litigation and/or negotiation. She is an English-qualified lawyer who practices in the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East. Suzannah has been involved in advising on ad hoc, ICC, LCIA, DIAC and ADCCAC arbitrations.

Paul Gibbons

Paul is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 24 years’ experience in construction. Paul started his career with a major international contractor, working on major civil engineering projects. Paul has experience acting as party representative in all forms of dispute resolution. He is an accredited expert witness with expertise in both quantum and delay matters.

John Shenton

John Shenton is Chair of the Dubai Hub for the CIOB and Regional Contract Manager – GCC for Averda. John is a Chartered Construction Manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators with fourteen years of experience in contract management in the UK and EMEA.

Leonie Sellers

Leonie specialises in international arbitration, with a particular focus on contentious construction, energy, and infrastructure projects. Based in the Middle East for over 10 years, Leonie has acted for and advised both local and international companies on a range of complex construction and infrastructure disputes.

 

Khushboo Shahdadpuri

Khushboo is a dual qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Singapore and the State of New York. Khushboo’s practice focuses on international dispute resolution. She has represented conglomerates, state entities, employers, contractors and sub-contractors in construction, infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, real estate, corporate and shipping disputes.

Fatima Balfaqeeh

Fatima Balfaqeeh is a legal counsel, and independent arbitrator, mediator and business consultant. Fatima has 16 years’ experience  in a wide range of commercial, legal, and operational matters including dispute resolution within the construction industry.

Alim Khamis

Alim specialises in resolving complex disputes in the construction, commercial, infrastructure and energy sectors. Benjamin Pilling KC

Benjamin is a well-regarded silk with a substantial practice in both the UK and the Middle East. He has worked in a number of large-scale construction disputes in the residential, infrastructure and transport remits. His national and international clients include banks, governments, developers, contractors and consultants, insurers and technology companies and a range of other quoted and privately owned companies.

Lynne McCafferty KC

Lynne has strong experience acting on significant infrastructure and procurement disputes. Her practice is particularly strong in the Middle East and she represents clients ranging from specialist software providers to large-scale government bodies. She is recognised for her ability to make complex technical material comprehensible.

Richard Sage

Richard’s practice is in the fields of construction, professional negligence, insurance, product liability, property damage and general commercial litigation / arbitration. He has substantial advocacy experience, and regularly appears in the High Court and Court of Appeal, both on his own and while being led. A large part of Richard’s work is in the field of international arbitration, and he has considerable experience in arbitrations involving construction and engineering disputes on high profile projects.

Sam is a dynamic silk who has been consistently regarded as a leading practitioner by the legal directories. His specialist areas are: International arbitration, Procurement, Judicial review/human rights and Court of Protection. 

James Mowat

James is a Director of Energi People, an international, built environment recruitment business. He has over 17 years of experience recruiting within the built environment across the MENA region, spanning the entire project lifecycle for consultants, contractors, PQS, PMC and developers. A trusted, well known expert in the region, he was elected as a Judge at the inaugural MEP Middle East Awards in 2022 & in 2023 & the CBN MEP Middle East Awards in 2022.

Emad Adel

Emad is a Fellow Chartered Construction Manager (FCIOB) from the Chartered Institute of Building. He has over 10 years of experience overseeing $6 billion projects in Rail, Urban Development, City Development, Infrastructures, Tunnels, Viaducts, Roads, Utilities, and Landscaping.

Justin Mort KC

Justin specialises in high value construction disputes with particular interest in and expertise in energy, infrastructure and process engineering projects.

He has recently worked on claims arising from a variety of energy projects including the construction of a wind farm in Scotland (delay claim), Pembroke power station (termination and final account dispute), a gas power station in Singapore, a hydro-electric dam in Malaysia (unforeseen grounds conditions claim) and a waste to energy power plant in England.

Mohammed Aldowish

Mohammed is a disputes partner based in Riyadh. He has extensive experience in disputes and regularly represents clients before the Saudi Courts, judicial tribunals and in arbitration. Mohammed advises clients on matters involving commercial disputes, infrastructure and construction disputes, shareholders and JV disputes. He also acts for clients in arbitration proceedings including ICC and ad hoc arbitrations. 

Conrad Bromley

Conrad specialises in the valuation of damages, disruption and loss of productivity, variations, defects, and claims for acceleration and mitigation. He has more than 20 years of experience in international construction and engineering projects in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australasia.

Khalid Yousri

Khalid has over 13 years’ experience in forensic delay analysis on major construction projects across the Middle East. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Construction Law and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and a Member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Khalid is a registered expert witness with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and performs the roles of Delay Expert in a number of Expert Determinations across the region.

Sara Paradisi

Sara is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team at Rosenblatt. Sara has advised on major projects across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia and South East Asia, with particular experience representing clients on oil & gas and petrochemical projects, thermal and gas-fired power plants, and offshore engineering projects.

Claire is the Managing Partner of Beale & Co (Middle East). She has over 20 years of experience in all forms of dispute resolution, specialising in construction disputes for clients in the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Vivek Kapoor

Vivek is an experienced advocate and arbitrator specialising in complex commercial disputes and investor-state disputes. He has particular expertise in multi-jurisdictional disputes arising from energy and natural resources, infrastructure and construction, banking and financial services, and technology sectors.

Kort Egan
